The bloom (or atmospheric scattering, can't tell) looks very realistic. Any details on why it looks so good?
The bloom? It's just the standard glare shader in mental ray. (These are all mental ray renders, not sure how clear that is from my post)The last image has some post depth of field applied as well so that helps.
